Poly(ionic liquid)s: Synthesis and Materials Application

Poly(ionic liquid)s, also named polymeric or polymerized ionic liquids (PILs) are taking an enabling role in some fields of polymer chemistry and material science. PILs combine some charming characters of ionic liquids with the flexibility and properties of macromolecular architectures and may provide novel functions that are of huge potential in a multitude of applications, including solid ionic conductor, powerful dispersants and stabilizers, absorbents, precursor for carbon materials, porous polymers, etc. In our research scope, we focus on application‐oriented synthesis of PILs with well‐defined architecture, controlled morphology, and designed functionality.
