Hidden Dimensions
The research and control of very small or very thin structures in the nano- and micrometer regime is our goal. These tiny structures determine the properties of materials and bio-systems.
A deeper understanding is the key to many innovations, such as "intelligent" biomaterials. Also on the energy production of the future, the avoidance of CO2 emissions and the development of vaccines is being researched here.

Research focuses on biomimetic systems that offer simple and sustainable solutions for global challenges such as the increasing energy demand and a global CO2 problem.

Imagine switching on a light and being able to understand and control the inner dynamics of a cell. This is what the Dimova group has achieved: by shining lights of different colors on replicates of cells, they altered the interactions between cellular elements. Controlling these complex interactions enables us to deliver specific drugs directly into the cells.
