Maurice Schmette
Main Focus
Maurice's research interests focus on polymer science at the interface of environmental research and functional materials, particularly sustainable polymer-based molecule and process design. He is also developing his own Master module, “Chemistry Beyond the Lab,” and serves as chair of the regional Young Chemists Forum (JCF) at the University of Potsdam.
At the Max Planck Institute of Colloids and Interfaces, in the Sustainable and Bio-inspired Materials Department, he aims to optimise the fascinating colour-forming properties of HPC by adding salt.
Curriculum Vitae
Maurice Schmette is a Master's student in the Department of Sustainable and Bio-inspired Materials, headed by Prof. Silvia Vignolini, at the Max Planck Institute of Colloids and Interfaces.
Maurice studied Chemistry at the University of Potsdam, where he completed his Bachelor’s degree with his thesis being done at the Fraunhofer IAP, in the working group of Prof. Alexander Böker, and is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in the program "Chemistry of Functional Molecules and Materials" of the University of Potsdam.
