Main Focus

My research focuses on structural colour in algae. Structural colour has been found in many land plants and, more recently, in algae to contribute to several vital functions, including light manipulation for photosynthesis and photoprotection.

I am particularly interested in:

  • Understanding the mechanisms underlying structural colour in algae.
  • Advancing our knowledge of how algae use structural colour to deal with environmental stresses.

Curriculum Vitae
