Markus Antonietti is laureate of the Macro Group UK Medal for Outstanding Achievement 2008

Markus Antonietti, Director at the Max Planck Institute of Colloids and Interfaces in Potsdam-Golm, received this prestigious award as the second German scientist for his research in the field of polymer science.

This medal is the highest honour of the Macro Group UK of the Royal Society of Chemistry and is awarded biennially to an outstanding scientist in the field of polymer science. After twelve years this award goes for the second time to a German scientist.

Markus Antonietti has been Director of the Colloid Chemistry department at the Max Planck Institute of Colloids and Interfaces in Potsdam-Golm since 1993. He has co-authored about 400 papers in an interdisciplinary fashion, covering polymer science, colloid science, material chemistry, nanoscience, and physical chemistry. Currently Antonietti is one of the most cited material scientists and chemists in Germany (H-index 74).

Macro Group UK Medal for Outstanding Achievement
Awarded to a scientist from any country, who is recognised internationally for his/her continued, outstanding achievements in the field of polymer science. The recipient is awarded a medal in a medal award lecture at a special meeting of the Macro Group UK.
