Yingjie Chen
Sustainable and Bio-inspired Materials
Main Focus
I am particularly interested in:
- Self-assembly behavior of brush block copolymers (BBCPs) and how they can contribute to the fabrication of novel photonic materials
- “Smart” and precise manipulation of material morphologies via structural design and “bottom-up” synthetic construction
- Introducing responsive factors into photonic materials and characterize these integrated complex systems
Curriculum Vitae
Yingjie Chen is a PhD student in the Department of Sustainable and Bio-Inspired Materials, headed by Prof. Silvia Vignolini, at the Max Planck Institute of Colloids and Interfaces.
Yingjie obtained his Bachelor degree with Honors in Chemistry from University of Nottingham, then he moved to Cambridge and obtained his Master degree in Chemistry under the supervision of Prof. Oren A. Scherman, where he mainly worked with thermo-responsive supramolecular hydrogels and investigated their mechanical properties throughout the isochoric heating/cooling processes.
