Main Focus

Yuzi focuses on developing microfluidic techniques for real-time monitoring systems that enable and enhance observations of structural colouration across diverse materials.

I am particularly interested in:

  • Producing monodisperse droplets containing through microfluidic setups
  • Enhancing real-time structural colouration observation

Curriculum Vitae

Yuzi works in the Department of Sustainable and Bio-inspired Materials, headed by Prof. Silvia Vignolini, at the Max Planck Institute of Colloids and Interfaces.

Yuzi received her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from the Department of Chemical Engineering at Imperial College London. During her Master’s project, she studied shake gels under the supervision of Professor Paul Luckham. She then began her PhD studies in the Responsive Soft Materials & Interfaces Lab with Emmy Noether Group Leader Dr. Lukas Zeininger at MPICI. Her work has developed a real-time monitoring system using Janus emulsion droplets for liquid-sensing applications.
