Prof. Abdel Salam Makhlouf wins Prize of Excellence and Innovation in Materials Science and their Applications, Egypt, 2010
A recipient of the Alexander von Humboldt Experienced Researchers Program, Prof. Dr. Abdel Salam Hamdy Makhlouf, has been awarded the Prize of Excellence and Innovation in Materials Science and their Applications, Egypt, 2010.
The award recognizes his research achievements and strong contribution in designing industrially applicable eco-friendly anti-corrosion coatings for aluminum and magnesium alloys to replace heavy alloys in the automotive and aerospace applications and hence fuel consumption saving and CO2 emission reduction.
Dr. Makhlouf also received the State Prize of Egypt in Advanced Science and Technology, 2006, the Prize of Excellence in Chemistry of Materials Corrosion and Surface Technology Egypt, 2006 and the Humboldt Research Award for Experienced Researchers at the Department of Interfaces (Max Planck Institute of Colloids and Interfaces). He is Associate Professor in the Department of Surface Technology and Corrosion Protection, Central Metallurgical Research and Development Institute, Egypt.
In recognition of the previous awards, the Egyptian Syndicate of Scientific Professions has awarded Dr. Makhlouf a Plaque and Certificate of Recognition and Appreciation.
