Biorefinery and Sustainable Chemistry

The constant depletion of fossil resources and the increasing environmental problems associated with their utilization on a global scale require the identification of alternatives for the generation of fuels, chemicals and materials, crucial to the development of modern society. Our goal is the development of new strategies for the generation of sustainable feedstocks and platform chemicals. On the bases of the expertise in the department of Colloid Chemistry, we focus on the upgrading of lignocellulosic biomass into high value molecules for different applications. [1,2,3]
